Throughout the book, the solutions on the quiz kept saying "use binomial theorem" for stuff like 1/7(7 choose 1)+.... and things. Can you explain how to apply it?

Also, for the 8.24 question, how do you construct the graph? I couldn't figure out why the shaded area is that....
