I am not sure how to solve a question

Question 6.17:

Two tangent circles are drawn with centers AA and BB in isosceles right triangle ABC△ABC.

Using the approximation π227π≈227 the area inside the triangle but outside the two circles is PQPQ of the entire triangle. What is P+QP+Q?

am i missing something? I'm not sure how to solve it as my original idea was to solve for area of circle and calculate how much the triangle has thats inside the circle, but the question doesn't provide area of circle.

The wording is a little confusing here, but the end goal is to find what fraction (written as P/Q) of the triangle is outside the two circles.

That is, our final answer should be (area of the region inside the triangle but outside the two circles) / (total area of the triangle).

Since the final answer is this fraction / ratio, you can actually pick convenient numbers for AB or AC, etc. and go from there.

Hope this helps!
