Hi David!

The roots that will satisfy this expression are rational roots. Therefore, you want to start with the Rational Root Theorem to find the possible rational roots. Since these roots are equal to the factors of p over the factors of q, you can find the positive and negative factors of the constant term, 2, and divide them by the positive and negative factors of the leading coefficient, 2. From there, test the possible roots until you find which ones fulfill the expression.

Hope this helps!

The roots that you are solving for are equal to c. Therefore, you treat this problem as one in which you are trying to find the roots. c is equal to the possible roots.
