Question on II-A homework 2.25
by Bober Yang - Friday, 12 June 2020, 11:23 AM

I don't really know what the question is asking for,

is the answer a number or a range because what I did is jut do b^2-4ac-=0

because the question said a real solution so m^2-4*1*m=0

m=4 or m=0

is that the answer or I did something wrong ,

I am just confused at what the answer should be

Range or Number?

Thank you so much

By asking for "a real solution" we mean "at least one real solution". Thus the values of $m$ that we are looking for are the solutions to an inequality. The answer may be a range of numbers and not a single number.
