Math Challenge II-B Algebra Chapter 2 Problem 2.28

For problem 2.28, instead of finding the range in which there is at least one negative root, I decided to find the range in which both roots would be positive and then exclude that range. I then decided to combine the resulting inequality with the range in which there would be two real roots. Would this be a good strategy, or should I try something else?

That seems like a good strategy. Just be careful: the opposite of "at least one negative root" is not "two positive roots".
