ZIML Preparation
Zoom International Math League (ZIML) is an educational program to help students expand their mathematical problem solving by practicing everyday.
The main ZIML site is available at ziml.areteem.org (click here). Areteem students can log into the ZIML site using the same account they use for this site!
On the ZIML site students have access to programs such as:
- Daily Magic Spells: The Daily Magic Spells provide a problem a day (Monday through Friday) for students to practice. Each question is labeled with its level (All grades, Middle School, or High School). Full solutions are available the next day, and students can track their progress on the Daily Magic Spells Leaderboard.
- Monthly Contests: The ZIML Monthly Contests are held the first weekend of each month during the school year (October through June). Students can compete in one of 5 divisions to test their knowledge and determine their strengths and weaknesses. Winners are announced each month and students can track their progress throughout the year.
- Practice Page: The Practice Page contains sample ZIML contests and an archive of AMC-series tests for online practice. In addition, a series of mock AMC contests are also available. These mock contests are full-length contests consisting of randomly chosen problems from the real contests that are similar in difficulty to the real contests.
It is recommended that students interested in the Monthly Contests compete in the live competitions throughout the year. Students who wish to review additional problems can do so by purchasing a ZIML Competition Book (available on the Areteem bookstore by clicking here) or a Practice Bundle (available below).
Practice your problem solving skills with ZIML Division E! This division focuses on advanced problem solving with mathematical concepts from upper elementary school. Covers material at a level comparable to MOEMS Division E. This division is open to all students who have not started grade 6.
This course features problems from the 2019-2020 ZIML Competition Year. Students can test their math capability with six problem sets, each featuring 20 problems and a time limit of one hour. Each set features problems in pre-algebra & algebra, geometry, counting & probability, and number sense. Solutions to all the problems unlock once a set is submitted, so students can learn from their mistakes and improve for the future.
Price: $60, including 6 Sets of ZIML Division E Practice (120 problems in total).
Practice your problem solving skills with ZIML Division M! This division focuses on problem solving using math concepts from a standard middle school math curriculum. Covers material on the level of AMC 8 and School/Chapter MathCounts. This division is open to all students who have not started grade 9.
