In question 8.27, there isn't any information about the principal. Is something missing from the problem? Can anybody help please? Thank you very much!

Indeed, the question is not quite self-contained.  Sorry about this.  This question is a continuation of question 8.7.  You may use the information in 8.7 as part of this problem, and solve accordingly.
