I have two questions on the handout:

For problem 8.29, because there are no numbers included in the question, I don't really get it. If there are no numbers, then how will you solve the problem?

For problem 8.30, Ive tried the equation 513/d=y+r, but it didn't get me anywhere close to the answer. Is it possible if you can give me a hint to the problem?

Question 29 is missing the number of coins. It should be $83$, the same as in example problem 8.9. Thanks for noticing and letting us know! The handout should be fixed now.

For 30, take a look at the other forum post that someone else had on that same question here.
