How is problem 1.16 on quick response question solved. I don't get how it works with the "tip" of using 8 = 9-1. The problem is factor x^2-6x+8

Try changing that $8$ in $x^2-6x+8$ to $9-1$. Can you see something that can be factored easily using some of the terms?
